The company has been in the Newport region since acquiring CoastCom in September 2016. Astound, which was acquired by investment firm Stonepeak for $8.1 billion in 2021, announced in July that it completed "a comprehensive refinancing and a commitment of $400 million from Stonepeak," which extends Astound's debt maturities to 2029 and 2030.
